Airlines

Ryanair have flights to many French provincial airports including Bergereac which is only about 60 minutes drive away from Castelnaud.  Flights depart from London Stansted, Nottingham and Liverpool.

 

Flybe also fly to Bergerac and have flights from London (Gatwick), Manchester, Southampton, Exeter, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford and Birmingham.  It also appears that there are seasonal flights to Bergerac from Leeds, Bristol and Manchester.

 

Jet2 also fly to Bergerac from Leeds/Bradford and Manchester to Brive.

 

It may be worth considering flying to other French regional airports if the timings are more convenient.

 

 

Railway

Car Hire

There are a number of car hire companies at the airport, namely Alamo, Europcar, Hertz and Avis.  However you can usually get a good discount by booking a car through either Holiday Autos or Auto Europe

 

Hot air ballooning

If you would like to do something a bit special you can float over the Dordogne and all its castles and chateaux from a local site - in fact the balloons often float over Le Rouquet in the early morning or evening - a wonderful sight.  Visit the website for an idea of what you might experience

Bike hire by the hour or day from Multitravel and they will deliver to Castelnaud!

 

There are a number of local golf courses, with the nearest only a few kilometres away and others at Siorac en Perigord which is 13 miles from Le Rouquet and the Souillac Country Club.
